Drake’s radio station became 94.1 The Dog on Aug. 22, 2006.
For six previous years, The Dog was known as KDCS Bulldog Radio, playing Today’s Music with New Music First on closed-circuit campus TV sets and the Web.
Between 1982 and 2000, Drake radio KDRK distributed programming via carrier current technology.

94.1 The Dog provides a lab setting for JMC-067 “Digital Audio .” All Radio-TV Producing and Broadcast News students produce and host their own programs at least one semester, and they produce public service announcements and other programming continuities.
News students also produce 4-minute news updates for at least two semesters.
Students from across the University volunteer to participate in Drake Broadcasting System (DBS). They produce entertaining, enlightening and informative radio shows, including many sports events involving Roosevelt High School and Drake. DBS radio staff members are responsible for day-to-day operations of the station, including music selection.
