Every Tuesday during the summer at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, hot rod cars and motorcycles can be found parked across the grounds. The weekly event called Gathering on the Grounds is a way for locals to get together and talk about cars, drink, and listen to live music.
Steven Grubb, of Des Moines, owns a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air that he fixed up himself. He often attends Gathering on the Grounds and other events like it.
Gathering on the Grounds begins at 6pm. Admission is free and anyone is welcome.
