Pressing issues like climate change, global warming and urban growth are demanding change in urban communities. Ed Uhlir, executive director of Chicago’s Millennium Park, is helping the urban area take a few steps in the right direction. Uhlir says the park is working to address issues of sustainability and aims to provide an eco-friendly environment for all of its users. New technologies like photocells on buildings and commuter bike stations allow the park to accommodate its users 21st century needs. The park is quickly becoming a prime example of urban development and environmental sustainability. Watch our slideshow to find out more about Millennium Park’s aims for change.
